Marni - Belly Dancer on Rollerblades

Marni Halasa, a United States Figure Skating double gold medalist, originally hails from Cleveland, Ohio. But it was her move to New York City that made this legal journalist achieve her aspirations as a multi-faceted performer. Currently, Marni is debuting her alter ego, "Mesmeralda the Mesmerizing Mermaid" in parades and parties all across New York City -- a residual effect from making a splash on the hit reality TV show, "America’s Got Talent."

“Mermaiding,” however, is just one of her many talents. With her accomplished skating and dance background, she is steadily climbing up the ranks to prime time.  She was recently was featured on MTV’s TRL to promote the movie “Blades of Glory,” with Will Ferrel and John Heder.  And in her most recent debut, she undertook the lead role of the Olympic champion Oksana Baiul in the Broadway-bound skating musical, “Cold as Ice.”

Marni’s other talents include performing with Ice Theatre of New York, the city’s premier dance ensemble on ice. She also choreographed rollerblading dance scenes for the recent Disney movie, “Enchanted,”  as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of “Stars, Stripes & Skates,” the annual east coast skating show dedicated to helping the families of 9/11.
